Senior Program Support Administrator (Transit Oriented Development) Job at Metropolitan Transportation Authority
This position is eligible for telework which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.
Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, Value Capture, within MTA-C&D’s Transit Oriented Development (TOD) department, this position will provide project and administrative support to TOD senior management and project management staff. A significant responsibility of this position will be to assist senior TOD management on Second Avenue Subway Phase 2 real estate matters, including real estate appraisals, acquisitions, relocations, and necessary project tracking. This position also requires the incumbent to provide project and administrative support to TOD staff, including overseeing the centralizing filing system (electronic and physical), records management, and communications with internal and external organizations.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in the deep breadth of projects led by the TOD group and a general interest in urban and regional planning, real estate development, capital improvement projects, and transit planning and operations. The candidate is expected to be a self-starter, show initiative and be interested in supporting a dynamic department by providing administrative, project, and general office support.
Responsibilities will vary by assignment. Typical duties may include, but not be limited to:
Assist TOD senior management with real estate acquisitions for the Second Avenue Subway project and other projects, including overseeing appraisals and ensuring that requirements of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) are being conformed.
Work with consultants in monitoring issues associated with TOD projects and coordinate appropriate follow-up action.
Provide administrative support, including centralized filings, scheduling, communications, and presentations.
Assist drafting Requests for Proposals, MTA Board staff summaries and information items, reports, and schedules for TOD senior management and project managers.
Interface with other MTA agencies and departments (e.g., legal, engineering, public/governmental affairs, accounting, budget, procurement, etc.) at every organizational level and with external parties.
Other duties may be required to support department objectives.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or a related field.
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of work experience in real estate, planning, or a related field.
A Master's degree may substitute for two years of the required experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and a focus on data integrity.

Experience with software applications related to capital project management (such as Asite, PSR, and Visio) preferred.
Knowledge of federal acquisition procedures (Uniform Act) preferred, or willingness to learn.
As an MTA Construction & Development employee, you may be required to complete the New York State financial disclosure statement – annually if your position earns $105,472 (this figure is subject to change) per year if the position is designated as a policymaker.
