Our Supply Chain team ensures inventory is consistently available to meet customer demand. We coordinate all aspects of supply through supply planning, sourcing, making, inventory management, packaging and delivery. We partner across the Marketing, Finance and Manufacturing organizations to build a robust demand and supply plan and ensure we get products to the right customer, at the place, at the right time.

Value Chain Management (VCM) is accountable for our Company's Product Strategy in alignment with the Manufacturing division and Human Health (HH) brand/franchise goals. We oversee integrated risk management, supply chain strategy and design, and continuous improvement of product supply chains.

Under the direction of the VCM Strategic Planning Lead, this role will standardize and improve our Value Chain Management business processes, while also embedding data analytics services to the Value Chain Management Teams (VCMTs) across our Manufacturing Division’s Operating Units, focusing on our Large Molecule products (Global Biologics Operations (GBO) and Global Vaccines Operations (GVO). This includes working with Manufacturing Operations, Global Supply Chain, Procurement, and Sales and Marketing professionals to understand their business processes and how they intersect with VCM and then defining analytics, methods, and tools to satisfy those needs in collaboration with IT. Examples of VCM Business Processes include Supply Chain Design, Strategic Asset Management, Product Master Planning, Integrated Risk Management, Value Stream Mapping, Change Control, Continuous Improvement and MPS.

Primary activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner with the VCM Leads across GPO, GBO, and GVO to support the realization of value and sustaining analytical activities, that seek to embed analytical tools within business processes and establish standardized work.

  • Support long term demand/supply scenario analysis for IO programs (pipeline)

  • Promote a culture of analytics as a differentiator and competitive advantage – an environment that places high value on using information in real-time to make fact-based decisions.

  • Collaborate with Analytics teams, IT and vendors to create sustainable platforms for delivery of analytic services that integrate tools with Robust, Stochastic, Probabilistic and/or Operations Research methodology to drive business decisions

  • Partner with VCM colleagues across GPO, GBO, and GVO to facilitate the standardization of VCM Business Processes, in addition to the renewal of business processes to keep them defined and contemporaneous.

  • Lead cross-functional, global teams for short-term projects as assigned

  • Remain current with industry best practices and trends, identifying experimental opportunities that advance the use of analytics at our Company in partnership with IT and the SCM Enterprise Solutions.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science/MIS, Business, Economics, Finance/Accounting, Data Science or another scientific or technical field.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience or higher in Supply Chain, Analytics, or Business Decision Support Services (i.e., finance, network strategy, etc.)

  • Broad cross-functional skills and business management/operations experience, knowledge of the functions that support the business including Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory, Technology, Quality, Compliance, Manufacturing Operations and Commercial Operations

  • Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders and teams with different priorities to make timely decisions

  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and an ability to work with large, complex data sets to answer critical business questions and be able to distill the information to key points for senior leaders.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Pharmaceutical experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of advanced probabilistic modeling techniques and operations research methodology

  • Knowledge and experience with information systems supporting supply chain activities, such as SAP, ECC, APO, Rapid Response, etc.

  • Knowledge/Experience in analytic tools such as Qlik, Spotfire, Power BI or other Office 365 Tools

  • Knowledge/Experience in basic coding skills, such as R or Python, as well as, experience in building probabilistic models

  • Strong knowledge of effectively locating and connecting data from various systems (e.g., Mantis, Qlik, SAP, FSA, etc.)

  • Understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations (Plan, Source, Make, Deliver)

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification and/or Project Management Certification Knowledge/experience using mathematical or simulation models to solve business problems

  • Experience partnering with IT on delivery of analytics services

  • Strong data visualization and summarization skills in order to make recommendations to leadership
