Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is seeking multiple senior software engineers to join our Business Applications team. You will work on internal tools, applications and APIs that empower the manufacturing, engineering and administrative capabilities of the company.

Sign-On Bonus: The company is offering up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus to newly-hired, full-time employees who begin work at X-ES before January 31, 2023. The bonus will be paid with the employee’s first paycheck*.

*To qualify, the candidate must be hired and begin working between October 1, 2022 and January 31, 2023. Former employees who had been employed by the company within the last 360 days from date of application are ineligible for the sign-on bonus.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work directly with peers and stakeholders to gather requirements, define scope and apply your technical skillset to solve business problems.
• Become a subject matter expert in the business domains relevant to the software you build and operate.
• Be a proactive member of your self-organizing software team by leading technical discussions and planning, facilitating code reviews and engaging with other teams with a high level of autonomy.
• Deploy and support the systems you work on in production environment.
• In collaboration with your team lead, shape and implement the practices and conventions for your team and codebase.
• Provide hands-on mentoring for less experienced members of your team.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of six (6+) years of experience writing production code in a professional setting.
• Proficiency with modern PHP and its ecosystem (Composer, PSRs, etc.)
• Experience with one or more web frameworks (e.g., Symfony/Laravel/Laminas)
• Strong knowledge of automated testing tools and techniques.
• Basic understanding of HTTP, TLS/SSL and DNS
• Prior experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible and virtualization technology like LXD and/or Docker.
• Familiarity with Scrum, Kanban, or other formal agile/project management methods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of multiple high level, interpreted programming languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, etc.
• Prior experience designing and providing long-term support of APIs and integrations.
• Experience with Bash, ZFS, MySQL administration, GitLab DevOps and/or Rundeck are beneficial but not required.
• An ability (and interest) to understand, support and evolve legacy systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
