Service Estimator Job at ZAAS
A Service Estimator generates service repair quotes and creates preventative maintenance agreements (PM’s) and deals directly with branch service team and power generation customers. The Service Estimator compiles estimated labor and parts lists to generate quotes and PM agreements in the quoting application and then distributes them to the customer and/or Customer Service Representative. This position also includes creating and aiding in the creation and updating of customer accounts and state contracts. The position requires constant follow up on outstanding quotes and building relationships with customers to create service opportunities. A successful candidate will have superior administrative and communication skills with great attention to detail.

What You Will Do
- Create service repair quotes based on compiled information from technicians, customers and service team
- Communicate and deliver quotes to customers via email, fax and telephone
- Manage and follow up on outstanding quotes and maintain prioritization list to ensure effectiveness
- Collect parts pricing from various manufacturers and vendors
- Create new and aid in the renewal of PM contracts, including acquiring Certificate of Insurance (COI) from customers
- Enter approved contracts into PM Tracker application/tool (Customer Service Coordinator)
- Aid in and help facilitate new customer accounts by sending credit applications and forwarding to A/P (Customer Service Coordinator)
- Aid in maintaining pertinent customer account information (i.e. ship-to addresses, billing addresses, contacts) (Customer Service Coordinator)
- Other duties as assigned
What We Need From You:
- Basic knowledge of generators, diesel and gaseous engines, controls, and systems (preferred)
- Mechanical aptitude or ability to correlate what technicians prescribe to a comprehensive parts and labor estimate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to write clearly and concisely
- Strong administrative skills, including computer and general office skills (MS Office, phone, email, typing, etc.)
- Ability to prioritize and maintains focus with frequent interruptions
- Ability to work well under pressure with a high level of emotional intelligence
- Excellent customer service, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work well with others and with various personalities
- Valid driver's license and must be insurable < 20% travel
Experience/Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2+ years’ experience in service department administration
- Experience in power generation service (preferred)
- Mechanical aptitude and parts knowledge (preferred)
- Physical And Mental Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to travel by car or air as needed
- Ability to see, hear, talk and touch
- Ability to use repetitive motion with computer, keyboard, and mouse
- Ability to work in a fast-paced/high pressure environment, support various projects, and meet tight deadlines
