Job Summary
Perform a variety of operations with the main goal to keep the press running at all times. Duties may also include assisting in all other aspects of the operation as needed to meet customer requirements.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
Assists the lead press operator in the operation of the assigned sheet-fed press.
Primarily responsible for setting up the feeder end of the press and preparing/hanging plates.
Sets rails, brushes, wheels, double sheet detector and loads stock.
Continually pre-load the feeder so when one person is changing loads at the delivery end, a quick pile change can be done at the same time.
Assist press operator with blanket washing, plate hanging and back cylinder cleaning.
Prep units for ink if necessary, makes sure stock is ready when needed.
Maintain ink levels in the fountains and puts away any unused stock and ink after the run is over.
Assist press operator in routine maintenance.
Assist other press operators whenever possible by locating paper and/or loading paper.
Adhere to Sandy Alexander’s quality and environmental policies, procedures, goals, and objectives and comply with all safety and work rules when performing duties.
Complete and maintain all required checklists, paperwork, records, documents, etc. and maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a print environment preferred
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Ability to work overtime as needed to meet customer demands
- Ability to read, understand and carry out written instructions
- Ability to understand verbal instructions
- Standing 100% of the entire time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 35 lbs. frequently
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
