Shifts available

• 1st Shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm
• 2nd Shift: 4:00pm - 12:30am
• 3rd Shift: 12:00am - 8:30am

Monday through Friday.

OT Preferred

A shift supervisor is responsible for overseeing business operations to meet or exceed the manufacturing and quality standards of the company, delegating tasks to team members and resolving problems that occur on their shift.

• Evaluate & resolve simple process, tooling, and machine problems
• Review daily production schedule and assign tasks accordingly
• Ensure adequate labor is available to minimize production downtime
• Ensure a smooth transition at shift changeover by performing a daily walk through of the facility with the oncoming supervisor
• Maintain positive employee morale by providing guidance, counsel, and direction to shift personnel
• Perform written employee evaluations on all shift personnel a minimum of once a year
• Take appropriate disciplinary actions as required, ensuring actions taken are in accordance with Edge Plastics, Inc. policies and procedures
• Monitor employee attendance and approve overtime hours as needed. Verifies employee timecards
• Schedules and approves shift personnel “time off” request
• Participate in interviewing and selection of key shift personnel
• Enforce compliance to all company safety and housekeeping policies and procedures
• Is alert to opportunities to improve methods, processes, and procedures, which can benefit the company and communicates these ideas to the Plant Manager

Responsible for training all personnel assigned to his/her shift per company and departmental training requirements

• Enhance the image and reputation of the company by exercising sound ethical business practices in all relations with customers, employees, suppliers, and other third parties
• May occasionally be requested to perform duties not described in job description

• Injection Molding experience
• Able to read, write effectively in English
• Able to speak fluently in English and Spanish

Physical demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, walk, and stand. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and the ability to extend hand and arms out and above the body. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is; occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
