Summary

The Shop Assistant is responsible for helping with a broad variety of duties related to transportation and service shop functions. Primary responsibilities include keeping the shop clean and organized, and accurately processing incoming and outgoing shipments.

Responsibilities:

The following responsibilities are a general guideline and not intended to be an exhaustive list of the full scope of responsibilities. Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based on business needs and at managements discretion.

  • Move units at the beginning and end of each day to allow full access in the shop.
  • Position display equipment as needed, where needed.
  • Emptying all trash containers in the warehouse and yard.
  • Check In/Out service and rental equipment.
  • Pickup and delivery of items and parts as directed by supervisor.
  • Receive equipment shipments, confirm accuracy of documents, and delivering paperwork to the transportation department and sales coordinators.
  • Receive batteries, chargers, attachments, and processes paperwork as above.
  • Request customer information for equipment and accessories received.
  • Tags equipment and accessories with received date, customer name, model, and serial number before storing in the proper area.
  • Attach company ID numbers on equipment, as directed.
  • Keeps various equipment areas organized by type of equipment.
  • Steam clean rental equipment, used equipment, and customer equipment.
  • Charge stock batteries.
  • Install batteries on rental equipment.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Education/Additional Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated passion for customer service, strong organizational skills, and a desire for continued growth within the role. Must be dependable and reliable in addition to:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift, pull and/or push 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Forklift Certified preferred or must obtain during first week of employment.
  • Current and valid driver’s license in good standing with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to problem‐solve.
  • Ability to meet processing deadlines and prioritize work.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to be resourceful.
  • Proficient with Outlook, MS Word and Excel and the ability to learn internal systems.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.57 - $28.26 per hour

Experience:

  • Mechanic: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Diagnostic evaluation: 1 year (Preferred)
