PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
School Site Duties
Implement direct programming according to and consistent with Family Service Lincoln mission and program philosophy.
Provides direct interaction with youth, in small and large groups, while monitoring the total environment.
Implement daily activities in an engaging and inclusive manner that encourages participation.
Implement and participate in upholding a daily schedule that is flexible for spontaneous learning opportunities and offers enough security, independence, and stimulation to meet the needs of all youth.
Ensure that all program areas (indoor and outdoor) are clean, organized and safe.
Communicate and interact with youth and families in positive ways.
Encourage youth to make responsible choices in line with Family Service Lincoln and site expectations.
Encourage and aid youth to interact with one another in positive ways.
Respond appropriately to the individual needs of youth.
Interact with families in an engaging and positive manner.
Inform families of the day and any program events or happenings.
Help provide and nurture a family centered program that encourages a partnership between the family and program.
Maintain the safety and security of youth at all times.
Protect and enhance the health youth.
Communicate, cooperate and be respectful of fellow team members.
Build and support relationships with school personnel, partners and host community.

Administrative/Program Duties
Implement accreditation, licensing, contract, and any agency partnerships standards.
Complete necessary paperwork on time.
Attend, participate, and share in a positive manner in team meetings or staff development opportunities.
Attend Weekly Site Supervisor Meetings.
Working relationships are positive and comply with Family Service Lincoln policies.
Complete performance evaluations and help Teacher Assistants set and achieve appropriate goals for their job performance.

Embraces and displays sensitivity relative to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the agencys service population.

Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associates or Bachelors Degree in a related field; 1-2 years of previous experience working with children.

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:
Basic Life Support (CPR) and Basic First Aid certification required at time of employment or to be completed within 60 days of start of employment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Characterized as medium work requiring exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
