Wage Level: Hourly Competitive Wages
Duration: Seasonal December-March
Summary
Snowsports Instructors will serve as professional representatives of Mont du Lac Resort. They will be a member of a team dedicated to creating the best possible environment for taking and teaching a ski or snowboard lesson. Not only will instructors work with students, but also with resort guests and other employees, fulfilling the guest service and educational roles on and off the slopes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Be an ambassador for safety. Follow and teach the responsibility code, Park Smart, helmet and lift safety. Report unsafe conditions, hazards and incidents.
2. Delivery quality private and groups ski or snowboard lessons and programs to children and adults.
3. Answer guest questions related to safety, programs, equipment, and terrain
4. Continue to learn and grow as an instructor through participation in meeting and trainings
5. Complete student progress or tip of the day cards. Record student progress in student record.
6. Help guests properly fit ski or snowboard boots, adjust bindings, and instruct customers in equipment function and use
7. Keep your equipment in good condition and follow the dress code
8. Must be able to be on their feet outside for extended periods of time
9. Ability to work outside, in adverse winter weather sometimes long hours
10. Strong intermediate or better skier/snowboarder
11. Children’s Program instructors must have a good understanding of child devolvement and learning.
12. Must be able to give accurate demonstrations of each skill
13. Ability to speak/communicate clearly to groups and individuals of all ages
14. Must possess a basic knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment
15. Ability to work with guests in routine situations as well as high pressure situations
16. Must be able to regularly be able to lift 20lbs
17. Must be able to assist a student (up to 65lbs) up off the snow or onto the chairlift
18. Must be patient even under pressure
Qualifications:
Intermediate or better skier or snowboarder
Strong communication and listening skills
PSIA/AASI Level 1 or higher. Or successful completion of Mont du Lac’s Snowsports Instructor training Program.
Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation depends on your experience.
