POSITION DESCRIPTION /
Niobium Microsystems is seeking SoC Engineers with 2 or more years of relevant experience (relevant academic coursework can serve as a substitute for the right candidate). Niobium’s Engineering team is seeking passionate and creative individuals with strong technical skills to join our expanding SoC team. The ideal candidate enjoys contributing across multiple disciplines.
As an SoC Engineer, you will work on a small talented team of SoC Engineers performing research on, designing, and implementing novel methodologies and architectures. You will have the opportunity to contribute to all areas of SoC design, verification, and implementation. Projects range from designing and refining custom cells to the implementation of complex systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES /
As an SoC Engineer, you will work on a small talented team of SoC Engineers performing research on, designing, and implementing novel methodologies and architectures. You will have the opportunity to contribute to all areas of SoC design, verification, and implementation. Projects range from designing and refining custom cells to the implementation of complex systems.

- Contribute to a small team of expert SoC engineer in all aspects of SoC engineering
- Investigate, architect and implement novel design, verification and physical implementation methodologies
- Opportunity to branch out into adjacent areas such as System Architecture, Front-end Design, and Functional Verification.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE /
We are looking for people with experience in SoC/ASICs design and architecture
Required:
- Successful candidates should have several of the following (for recent graduates, relevant coursework and projects can apply):
- SOC design/architecture experience
- RTL Design including HVLs and HDLs (SystemVerilog, Verilog)
- SoC Integration and Interconnect Protocols
- Logic synthesis and static timing analysis
- SoC design flow including areas such as chip-level design, block/IP design and behavioral modeling
- Modeling SoC architectures with FPGAs
- Bussing protocols such as AXI/AMBA/TileLink
- Interface components, such as PCIe, DDR or USB
- SOC Place and Route
- SoC design with CHISEL
- RISC-V architecture
- Asynchronous Logic design techniques
- SOC verification experience
- HVL and HDL (SystemVerilog, Verilog).
- SoC testbench development, constrained random testing, and debugging.
- SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA).
- Experience with DFT methodologies including scan insertion
- Hardware Emulation and/or Hardware/Software co-simulation
- C/C++/Python Programming
- SOC physical implementation experience
- Timing constraint development, clock tree synthesis and timing closure
- Signoff flows including timing, signal integrity and power integrityExperience with multi-clock/multi-power domain designs
- Experience with Synopsys tools flow including DC, ICC2, ICV, PT
- Power domain design and analysis methodologies (UPF)
- Physical verification skills (DRC, LVS, ERC, DFM)
- Ability to create and extend automation flows (RTL to GDSII)
