Schneider Electric’s Digital Grid, Asset Management Services team has an outstanding opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual to take on the role of Software Designer in the United States. We are seeking an individual with a deep Software Engineering background, adept in designing and building software for GIS applications and systems. The primary responsibility will be to design and deliver industry-leading solutions, based on the ArcGIS and ArcFM platforms, that meet end-user requirements.

  Responsibilities

  • Design and propose collaboration with business and stakeholders, based on ArcGIS ArcFM technology.
  • Design reusable applications, components, frameworks, and libraries, along with complete documentation on the designs, for engineer consumption.
  • Work closely with architecture, engineering, project managers, and sales teams to
  • Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices, security, and improving performance.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and design mitigation or resolution solutions.
  • Mentor and guide internal software engineers on design patterns and best practices.
  • 
    Work directly with engineering, support, and sales staff to address critical customer needs.
  • Communicate with clients and end-users on software usability and maintenance.
  • Work with other designers, software engineers, team leads, and managers on proposed solutions to ensure knowledge coverage and any additional considerations are factored.
  • Support request for proposal responses, scope of work reviews, development estimates, and technical component specification authoring and review.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, engineering, or software design.
• 7+ years related work experience in software/systems development preferably in the utility industry.
• 7+ years of related experience working with and customizing Esri based GIS Systems (ArcGIS) preferred
• Experience designing and implementing end-user and server-side applications, integrations with 3rd party systems and applications, web services, and stand-alone executables.

• Experience in application development using .NET, C#, WPF with Strong Design, familiarity with SOLID principles, and extensive programming s.

• Experience with software design concepts and tools.

• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
