Job Title: Software Integration Engineer
Location: Mossville, IL (Hybrid)
Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000
Overview
As a Software Integration Engineer, your role will involve the creation of technical specifications and integration documentation for machine systems components, electronic control modules (ECMs), and software. You will collaborate with machine system and sub-system teams to resolve system design and integration issues during development and production. Your support will be crucial in communicating software releases and providing the necessary documentation for field updates and customer requirements. Reporting on technical status to related Electronics teams and coordinating software development activities will be part of your responsibilities. You will also contribute to test plan development and system/software validation activities.
Typical Task Breakdown:
On a typical day, you will develop software within an embedded real-time operating system platform to create high-value feature functionality for mining equipment. Working with the software lead architect and system integration engineer, you will convert high-level functional requirements into effective software designs. Collaboration with various team members is essential to ensure the proper functionality of the features you develop. This includes conducting unit and hardware-in-the-loop testing of the features.
Interaction with Team:
You will engage in daily team collaboration as described above, working closely with software lead architects, system integration engineers, and other team members.
Work Environment:
While some flexibility may be allowed for onsite work, you should be available to be onsite 100% as needed. The work environment will primarily be in an office setting.
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a relevant field is required.
- 2-4 years of experience in software development is required.
- Master's or above projects/internships can be considered toward the experience requirement, but durations for each must be listed on the resume.
Skills Required:
- Solid programming experience in C or C++.
- Knowledge of computer development software as it relates to embedded systems, such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent multitasking abilities to handle various responsibilities simultaneously.
Skills Desired:
- Hands-on understanding of controls for physical systems related to the software being developed (hydraulics, transmissions, engines, etc).
