Description:SUMMARY
The Spa Cleaner is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the spa and fitness facilities. Other responsibilities include deep cleaning and performing special projects, including but not limited to bathroom, shower, steam room and locker room cleanliness. The person in this role contributes to the resort's commitment to high quality guest service and teamwork. Exceptional attention to detail is a must. Shift times are 4:00am – 12:30pm. This position requires 2 years janitorial or housekeeping experience, preferably in a resort or hotel environment. The person in this role must be able to push/pull/lift a minimum of 25lbs. frequently and 30lbs. occasionally and be able to stand for a long periods of time. Must have basic English communication skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Complete daily cleaning checklists of assigned areas such as showers, restrooms, tubs, sinks, locker rooms, steam rooms, relaxation room, floors, ceilings and light fixtures, counters.
• Tasks include sweeping, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, polishing, vacuuming, trash removal, recycling and box removal, etc.
• Report facility repair & maintenance needs
• Follow Rancho Valencia and Forbs 5-star service guidelines
• Follow all OSHA and MSDS rules and regulations
• Follow all resort policies and procedures, ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
• Develop and maintain positive working relationship with others
• Support team to reach common goals
• Ensure adherence to quality, expectations and standards
• Identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational, efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings.
• Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures. Report accidents, injuries and unsafe work environment to manager. Actively participates in Safety Programs.
• Participates in and supports hotels efforts towards community service, sustainability and environmental initiatives.
• Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.

Requirements:Qualifications
Required

• Prior janitorial or housekeeping experience required
• Must have schedule flexibility weekends and holidays
• Ability to communicate in English with vendors, guests and staff to their understanding
• Must be able to multi-task
• Must be able to work with a team

Desirable

• Prior AAA 5-Diamond and Forbes 5-star resort experience
• Dynamic and personable

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing. Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property.
• Constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity.
• Occasional need to stand for long periods of time.
• Lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. frequently and 30 lbs. occasionally.
• Vision requirements: constant need to view small print. Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms’ reach.
• Hearing requirements: constant need to speak on telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to general public and converse with staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment.

Salary: $20.00 per hour
