- Pay – The starting hourly pay for this position is $54960.86 – $87256.40. All new employees hired for this position will start at step 1 of the range. Existing employees will receive increases as outlined by their bargaining agreement.
- Work Schedule – Schedule will be 4 days per week, 9 hours per day. Monday – Thursday 8am-6:00pm \
- Environment – Works in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like. Periodic travel to various City worksites may be required. Regular and timely attendance is required.
THE ROLE
Performs a broad range of highly responsible, complex and confidential administrative support and higher-level clerical coordination duties for the Department Director. Handles confidential and/or sensitive information requiring use of significant discretion. Responsibilities involve a high degree of planning and coordination activities and may include facilitating administrative processes by serving as a team leader on delegated administrative support matters. IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal individual will have the ability to independently exercise good judgement in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative and organizational skills, and possess the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities
MINIMMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree in business communication, communications or a field related to a function of municipal government. Bachelor’s degree preferred; and
- Five (5) years of full-time progressively responsible administrative and analytical experience performing organizational and operational analysis work in a government or business capacity, including experience as a supervisor. Two (2) years of recent supervisory experience preferred.
- Equivalency: May substitute a combination of equivalent education and experience. The city assesses 1 year of fulltime experience as equivalent to one year of education.
Licenses and Certifications - Must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record and ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame.
