Job Overview
The job of the Student Life Center Attendant is to attend to patrons in the Student Life Center Front Desk, Equipment Checkout, and Fitness Areas.

Job Duties
- General Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide good customer service – be attentive, friendly and helpful
- Be knowledgeable about the Student Life Center facility and program offerings to be able to confidently provide information to patrons
- Enforce Student Life Center policies and procedures in a consistent manner
- Adhere to the department dress code (polo, athletic wear, etc.)
- Always carry radio and use it for work purposes and in a professional manner
- Be prepared to respond to emergencies/incidents
- Address/report problems that you see/encounter to the Building Manager on duty
- Arrive on time and only leave when your shift is over
- Follow proper procedure to find coverage when unable to attend a scheduled shift
- Submit payroll in a timely manner (by 5p.m. Friday following end of pay period)
- In the case of emergency, communicate with Graduate Assistant/Assistant Director
- Must attend required trainings and meetings throughout the semester
- Must be willing to work early morning, late night, and weekend shifts
- Required to work regularly scheduled shifts until 6p.m. at the start of breaks and after 6p.m. on the last day of breaks
- Complete other duties as assigned
- Front Desk Specific:
- Welcome patrons upon entering the facility
- Validate memberships by swiping ID cards
- Sell services and guest passes using Fusion Software System
- Answer the phone in a professional manner, take notes, and relay information when necessary
- Equipment Checkout Specific:
- Manage the rental/sale of equipment using Fusion Software
- Properly complete laundry duties including washing, drying, and folding
- Maintain accurate inventory
- Report and document damaged equipment using provided forms
- Direct patrons to the Recreational Sports Office when equipment is returned past allotted rental period
- Fitness Specific:
- Circulate around gym floor throughout entire shift
- Monitor designated area to ensure the safety of all patrons
- Clean/organize designated area (disinfect and wipe down cardio equipment/benches, re-rack weights, etc.)
- Report and document broken or malfunctioning equipment using provided forms
Days/Hours Needed
- Specific needs: 9 p.m. – midnight (Friday and Saturday), 7 – 10 a.m. (Saturday and Sunday).
- Morning, Afternoon, Evening, and weekend hours possible.
- Must be willing to work early morning, late night, and weekend shifts.
- Required to work regularly scheduled shifts until 6p.m. at the start of breaks and after 6p.m. on the last day of breaks.

- Must be a current SUNY Cortland student
- Must hold certification in CPR/AED/First Aid or be willing to become certified within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
