We are seeking an innovative, creative in-house content creator/cinematographer and photographer that can manage, drive and produce content on our new developing brand for both internal and external uses. This individual needs to be organized and highly technical. This role combines their technical expertise, creative approach, and unique capability of creating break-through and high-quality content.
The right person will be a hybrid creative who can tell a fantastic story but match it with innovative and emotive visuals for various mediums and platforms. You will be a content creator and will need to have expertise and deep understanding of the latest trends in the social spaces but also the ability to take an internal communications video to the next level.
Must have a deep passion for the travel and hospitality industry and will be located in Orlando but this job will require traveling at 50% throughout the year to all our 28+ Resort Locations.
Because we toe the line between creative & production, the ideal person has an extraordinary aesthetic sense, ability to build a narrative, and a deep understanding of all aspects of video production including the postproduction process and able to take on editing responsibilities. This role will be a pivotal addition to our Creative team, working closely with our senior creative leadership and the entire in-house Studio across creative, production, and agency partners
CINEMATOGRAPHER/ PHOTOGRAPHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Tell visual stories – proactively partner with creative director, designers, copywriters, and cross-functional teams to create videos that reflect our brand expression and unique point of view.
- Lead the team as the Director of Photography to ensure all shots and footage are captured flawlessly. Know how to direct the crew to set up the camera, light, and sound to film the scenes. Also know how to work with people’s strengths to bring a team together. While staying calm during high-stress situations, motivate everyone to continue doing their best work and keep the final product in mind
- Source appropriate equipment, lighting gear, etc., and if need be, rent appropriate gear not currently owned.
- Assemble appropriate crew for each project.
- Scout location(s), and take test shots as proof of concept, when needed.
- Work with the post-production team to ensure desired creative outcome is achieved.
- Stay up to date with advances in the film industry and attend workshops and training sessions wherever possible.
- Utilize an understanding of professional lighting techniques and audio standards.
- Expand networks and maintain relationships with industry professionals.
EDITOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Edit footage, photography, and graphic layers into compelling video content.
- Support creative development from concept through final execution, and juggle multiple projects while aligning to brief asks, milestones, and schedules.
- Input music, dialogue, graphics, and effects to various pieces. Color match footage to approved photography assets.
- Optimize content within technical constraints and requirements across multiple social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok) and website.
- Help guide the tagging, uploading, and socialization/distribution process to several channels for maximum audience impact.
- Provide effective communication on multimedia production including motion graphics and video/sound editing to capture concise and pleasing stories.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- You have a Bachelor’s degree or BFA in Film or related field
- 7+ years’ experience as photographer and cinematographer following brand guidelines and producing quality social and brand content.
- 7+ years experience with digital technology and pertinent software packages (e.g. Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop)
- 7+ years experience with storytelling skills and creative visual storytelling.
- Agency and/or Big Brand experience is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Able to multitask, prioritize and manage multiple projects at once without compromising quality
- Knowledge of social media platforms and the specifics of creating and delivering for each of them
- Technical knowledge of a wide range of camera systems
- Willing to learn, grow, adapt, and be artistically flexible
- Highly technical, organized and attentive to detail with strong communication skills
- Ability to travel, and work while on location, is a must
- Robust post-production experience and ability to maintain an organized post-workflow
- Ability to juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Commitment to stay on top of industry trends, competitor insights, and measurement to provide well-informed recommendations to team members
- Passion for building an innovative and flexible team to produce video and audio projects for a variety of platforms and audiences
- Ability to take direction and be a positive, collaborative force on the team with a desire to mentor other team members on a growing unit
- Strong interest in outside perspectives, curious approach, and continuous improvement
