Job Description

Serves as the warehouse management system (WMS) expert and business analytics lead for the site/region

Site Warehouse Management System (WMS)

• Could serve as the WMS Super User for the site.
• Understands the WMS database structure.
• Performs advanced configuration of the WMS.
• Designs, creates, and implements new screens for the WMS.
• Trains individuals and small groups on WMS functionality.

Business Analytics

• Collects and analyzes systems and operational data.Provides recommendations to improve efficiency of operations.
• Analyzes discrepancies and assists in the design of procedures to reduce/eliminate site impact.
• Conducts feasibility analyses on processes and equipment; calculates cost/benefit, identifies business impacts, and proposes solutions.
• Interfaces with the Operations Team to review operating procedures and maximize system efficiencies.
• Possesses an expert knowledge of SQL.

o Writes complex queries

o Performs advanced functionality and query optimization

• Possesses an expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

o Uses advanced functionality (e.g. HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Arrays)

o Writes advanced VBA

• Identifies requirements, creates, runs, and manipulates site management and/or customer reports.
• Identifies requirements, develops, and implements analytical tools that identify areas for improving service levels, reducing costs, and enhancing operations.

Warehouse Activities

• Fully comprehends warehouse activities and dependencies to design and implement warehouse processes and workflows.
• Interfaces with the Operations Team to review operating procedures and maximize system efficiencies.
• Contributes to, reviews, and edits the Cost Model.
• Contributes to, reviews, and edits a warehouse layout with respect to the Cost Model and Customer Profile.

Site Technical Support

• Serves as site liaison for internal and external systems-related groups.
• Troubleshoots and coordinates technical support for site operations and systems.
• Serves as site lead for systems implementations and modifications.
• Interfaces with the Customer to identify and resolve systems issues and maximize productivity.
• Ability to develop and execute validation and ad-hoc testing needed for site/network level changes.

Interpersonal Skills and Knowledge

• Advises/assists managers in shaping direction.
• Demonstrates a willingness to share skills, knowledge, and expertise.
• Mentors Operations Systems Analysts.
• Comfortable delivering presentations to small groups.
• Establishes relationships with DHL Supply Chain functional teams and Sector-based systems resources.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor degree in IT similar field or equivalent experience, required
• 1-3 years of transportation or logistics experience, or experience in a similar role, required
