Sr. R&D Electrical Tech (Contract)

We are searching for an experienced Sr. R&D Electrical Tech (Contract) at our Camas facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibility:
The subject position requires electrical design assistance expertise for automation, industrial process control system design integration in a product development environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for design and development assistance of electro-mechanical product components from concept through production. It also includes assisting design engineer towards optimization of electrical components including considerations of design-for-manufacturability and cost.
Able to assist in validating the design concept through system integration and functional test. The responsibility also includes system documentation, assistance in start-up as well as customer training
Responsible for generating component and assembly level drawings and bill of materials.
Responsible for wiring, installing, commissioning, troubleshooting electrical control panel for industrial vision, inspection, and automation type products

Required Qualifications:

Education/Experience
Minimum Associates degree in Electrical engineering
Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
Must have field experience in Machine Vision type products system integration, commissioning and troubleshooting experience
Must be able to process and manage industrial build and custom application
Must have National Instrument LabView experience
Must have troubleshooting experience with analog, digital and power electronics circuits
Must have skills in prototyping, design validation, testing and hardware design documentation.
Must have experience with C/C++ programming language
Must have experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
Must have experience with network and hardware communications (includes wireless) and working knowledge of UART/Ethernet interface and internet protocols (TCP/IP)
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and must be capable of working effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Must be able to travel - Approximately 30%
Must be organized and detail oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Other Candidate Qualifications
Familiarity with IEC-61131-3 control language or Ladder logic programming
Knowledge in operator interface technologies such as user interface displays, logic controllers, and user-input devices

Physical Requirements

Sit/stand/walk 8-10 hours a day

Be able to lift up to 35 pounds
Able to wear prescribed personal protective equipment – safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.
Position located in Camas, WA
Must be able to travel - Approximately 30%
