Staff Accountant Job at Gedeon GRC Consulting
Gedeon GRC Consulting, a leading provider of value-added, engineering and design services is seeking a Staff Accountant to work in our Syosset, NY Office.
Main duties including but not limited to Billing, AR Collection, Account Reconciliation & GL Accounting
This position reports directly to the Controller.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Responsible for daily & monthly Billing, preparation of client invoices using Excel and Adobe
· Review client contracts to properly setup the invoice template and project information in both Excel and our Billing System Ajera for accuracy
· Communicate with clients and subcontractors for any Billing and Payment issues
· Liaison with project managers on monthly billing to review project and billing status
· Deposit customer receipt and perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliation
· Assist with collection effort by making phone calls and/or email clients
· Update agencies payment reporting systems such as Elation, EBO, PIP, etc
· Review Prepaid & Accrual schedules and prepare monthly journal entries
· Maintain Subledger account reconciliations, identify and resolve variances if any
· Assist in month-end closing and annual audits
· Assist in preparing Financial Statement & variance analysis
· Perform other job duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management
· 3-5 years’ experience in a service organization and/ or engineering preferred
· Must be very detail-oriented and possess good analytical skill
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, and system savvy
· Must be able to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization
· Self- starter, able to perform the essential functions of the job independently
· Knowledge of Deltek Ajera or other Accounting/Billing system would be preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
