Job Posting Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Atlanta, GA (hybrid)
Position Summary
The Staff Accountant is part of the North America (NAMER) Controllership team and will focus on M&A integration accounting in addition to assisting with the month-end close process. This position will work with various stakeholders (both internal and outsourced) to achieve timely and accurate results and utilize technical accounting skills to ensure that transactions are appropriately accounted for in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
  • Perform monthly billing, working closely with the business to send invoices to customers and respond timely to all inquiries from internal and external sources.
  • Assist with merger and acquisition accounting and integration; coordinate opening balance sheet audit requests; record opening balance sheet; map local accounting records to corporate ledger and upload periodic trial balance activity; lead integration accounting workflow status reporting.
  • Responsible for month-end close activities, including closing subledgers, preparing accruals, recording journal entries, reviewing account trends, and providing analysis as required.
  • Manage daily accounting operations to ensure the accuracy of general ledger. Review flux and trend analyses of financial statements data monthly.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations. Coordinate with onshore and offshore teams to determine the proper accounting treatment of business transactions and resolve any aging items.
  • Support internal and external audits, as well as external reporting activities.
  • Assess current SOX controls to ensure adequacy. Identify and implement any new controls on existing or new processes, including updating/creating process documentation, collaborating with business process owners, etc.
  • Review complex and unusual transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
  • Lead ad hoc projects and drive them to completion with minimal supervision.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other related business discipline
  • Minimum of two years relevant work experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Systems aptitude with strong Office 365 and Excel skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Licensed CPA or CPA Candidate
  • Industry / corporate accounting experience
  • Experience in public accounting or large multi-national corporation
  • Experience with Oracle ERP (On-prem and Cloud) or business reporting applications
  • Experience supporting an outsourced relationship
