As a STEM Camp Coordinator, you will help lead camp activities for school age children to engage them in a variety of subject matter and build upon their abilities outside of the summer learning hours. STEM activities encourage children to follow their dreams, discover their talents, grow their confidence and try new things!

On a regular day, the STEM Camp Coordinator will:

  • Lead age appropriate STEM driven experience, for LEGO and Tech amd Gaming Camps, employing various STEM materials and skills using but not limited to:

    • iRobot’s robotic Root;

    • Sphero 1.0 and BOLT robotics;

    • Makey Makey Innovation;

    • LEGO and Light STAX;

    • K’Nex;

    • Digital and compound microscopes;

    • Themed based outside and gym activities.

  • Lead Pirate, Zombie, and Hogwarts Camps, create an immersive culture and use learning experiences including but not limited to:

    • Dissections;

    • Zombie Folklore and History and Arts and Crafts;

    • Pirate and Privateer History including a field trip to Peabody Essex Museum;

    • Navigation and Cardinal Direction based activities;

    • Harry Potter/Hogwarts Themed Art and Crafts;

    • Age appropriate Harry Potter/Hogwarts themed creative writing prompts;

    • Themed based outside and gym activities.

  • Guide STEM volunteers and Leaders-in-Training.

  • Train, as needed, with the Greater Beverly Y STEM Integration Coordinator in all aspects of STEM Camps programming and technologies.

  • Curriculum and supplies are in place yet there’s room to create and expand on the programming and Camper experience.

  • Must be 18 years of age and have graduated from high school
  • Preferred work schedule is Monday-Friday (5 days) throughout the camp season
  • Must have reliable transportation to ensure the ability to commute to and arrive at camp on time daily
