JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Part-Time

Penn State New Kensington Continuing Education is seeking individuals with an interest in both STEAM and non-STEAM related topics to develop and instruct 4-day work week camps for students in 1st through 12th grades. Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred. Camp curriculum must include hands on activities. The following areas are being considered: science, math, literature, arts, music, theater, technology, foods and athletics. Camp programs are planned to run four days (Monday through Thursday) for 2 hours per day. Multiple vacancies are available for various programs.

Instructors will be required to obtain or provide current employment clearances including PA State Police Criminal Background Check (SP4-164), PA Child Abuse History Clearance (CY-113) and FBI Criminal Background Check through IdentoGO and participate in Mandated Reporter Training.

Camps may be held in-person or virtual based on CDC guidelines at the time the camp would run.

CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS:

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
