Parks/Pipestem Resort State Park/Summers County Under general supervision, performs full performance supervisory work overseeing the activities of clerical support staff and set up personnel at Pipestem Resort State Park. Prepares payroll, submits leave requests, and completes employee performance appraisals. Handles all inquiries, correspondence, and contractual requirements for group events, weddings, and receptions. Makes work assignments for employees and trains employees in proper work procedures.

Processes outgoing/incoming mail. Helps set up meeting spaces for conferences and group events. Gives tours of facilities for group inquiries. W_orks closely with park departments to organize, plan, and implement group events. Submits and monitors payroll/personnel issues for employees. Compiles, updates, and monitors monthly reports outlining the activity of the convention services department including work produced, monies sent or collected, and other related activities. Handles golf accommodations and reservations for golf groups. Monitors/procure/_maintain equipment needed for conferences. Serves as a step-on guide for park tours for bus groups. Develop, initiate, and monitor marketing strategies to solicit group business. Will serve as Pipestem's representative when giving welcome speeches to groups. Serves as Pipestem's representative at a variety of business events to promote Pipestem Resort State Park. Must be proficient in documentation of conversations, meetings, and important related events for groups and events. Must be proficient in typing and computer related experience. Must be able to work a variety of shifts and hours to include weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Knowledge of different styles of meeting room set up and knowledge of audio-visual equipment. Proficient communication skills to include but not limited to phone, email, face to face meetings and in writing. Must be proficient in organization and record keeping. This position directly supervises all full-time and part-time employees of the lodge and front desk area. The person in this position will serve as the Assistant Lodge Manager and will also supervise the group sales office at Pipestem State Park. Assistant Lodge Manager duties include: Assists in coordinating all aspects of the McKeever Lodge, Mountain Creek Lodge and Cottages and departments located within. Assists the Lodge Manager in completing financial and occupancy figures. Devises, compiles, and offers special lodging packages and offerings to entice and increase occupancy and revenue. In the absence of the Lodge Manager, the Assistant Lodge Manager will have complete discretion and authority to make decisions and provide direction in any and all situations. Works with the central parks office to compile special offerings and revenue initiatives for both group events and individual tourists. Assists the Lodge Manager in compliance with all West Virginia health regulations. Encourages community involvement with special programs, discounts, and offerings to guests. Helps coach employees in all areas of employment and ensures compliance of all employment regulations.

Assists the Lodge Manager in selection and procurement of lodge/cottage offerings, supplies and inventory. Helps develop, initiate, and implement new lodging and amenities. Helps with compliance in regard to emergency situations and adhering to all the rules and regulations. Works with budgets in such areas as employment, amenities, and the purchase of the supplies.

Pay: $26,333.00 - $48,716.00 per year
