The Surgery Center Manager recruits, trains, and works collaboratively with the clinical team to deliver safe, effective, and efficient care to our patients and serves as an overarching operations consultant. They are responsible for enhancing and improving the operational efficiency and operational controls of the business while maintaining professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative style, high integrity, tact, and positive attitude. They demonstrate competence and character that inspires trust.

Duties

  • Fosters a culture that values positivity, critical thinking and problem solving, and encourages constructive feedback, engagement, inclusion, and diversity at all levels.
  • Manages the proper utilization of Surgery Center staff. Help to plan and organize the responsibilities of assigned staff to increase efficiency and best utilize employees’ skills and abilities.
  • Assists in the training and orientation of new staff; proactively develops all staff by providing clinical and administrative information, organizing, and providing access to educational programs, and experiential growth opportunities.
  • Assesses and documents performance by completing Introductory Evaluations on all new hires and annually thereafter.
  • Conducts individual supervision/counseling sessions for assigned staff and complete all necessary documentation. Works with assigned staff to correct performance problems.
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures.
  • Assists Operations Director & Executive Director in controlling budgeted overhead.
  • Maintains practice operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing practice operational policies, procedures, and HIPAA & safety standards.
  • Assists and participates in ongoing Quality Improvement & Risk Management initiatives.
  • Oversees and participates in the external audit process such as Surgery Center credentialing and licensure processes (e.g. AAAHC, OSHA, DOH etc.). Ensures compliance with all county, state, and federal requirements.
  • Participates in the proper functioning of the surgical center and maximizing the efficiency and services provided in this unit. This includes building relationships with contracted providers such urologist and anesthesia. Help add scope of surgical services.
  • Oversees and participates in recruitment, selection, retention & training of practice personnel, to maximize profits, and to minimize turnover. Monitors staff levels to ensure that these are appropriate for the delivery of the highest quality services.
  • Maintains a high standard of staff performance by coaching, mentoring, and counseling the staff and leadership team, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Oversees the Occupational Health program for all of SRM Employees
  • Other duties as assigned

Infection Control Officer for SRSC and SRM clinic:

The Infection Control Officer is responsible for coordination of the SRSC and SRM Clinic’s Infection Control Program (ICP). This includes surveillance, analysis, and reporting of nosocomial infections; educating employees about infection control; and the development of health system policies and procedures to ensure rigorous infection control standards are in place that meets AAAHC, OSHA, DOH, and CDC requirements, and SOPs. Writes, updates, and maintains SOPs for Infection Control Program in conjunction with state and accrediting board requirements.

Professional Development:

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Participates in professional societies.
  • Shares across partner practices insight and experience allowing Operations Director, Executive Director, and SRM Board to make competent decisions based on best practice information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing degree required with current state RN license without limitations.
  • Minimum 5 years of women’s health, operating room, and/or procedure room experience. Infertility experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Maintain updated ACLS and BLS licenses.
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and proficiency with a variety of hardware and software applications.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi disciplinary team and promote team building.
  • Verbal and written abilities to communicate accurately and concisely.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
