Job Profile Summary

This role focuses on supporting the design, development, and implementation of human resource programs and policies, including recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits, mobility, talent acquisition, diversity, talent management & organization development and employee/labor relations. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Workday and People Technology Solutions: vendor partnership relationship and integrations, configuring, maintaining, and report generation. Also, maintains employee records for accuracy for payroll and applicable integrations. Also prepares statistical summaries, dashboards, special reports and may support integrations. This role also ensures that Workday and People Tech Solutions are fully tested, operational, and connected to Tufts Medicine’s strategies. A management role that supervises employees focusing on tactical, operational activities within a specified area, with the majority of time spent overseeing area of responsibility, planning, prioritizing and/or directing the responsibilities of employees. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reports. A role that directs a department or small unit that includes multiple teams led by managers and/or team Leaders. Responsibilities typically include: ownership of short to mid-term (1-3 years) execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of the Department, problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis, and requires ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.

Job Overview

This role will be responsible for all Workday initiatives. This includes planning, coordination and successful implementation, while providing expert knowledge of the systems and processes. In addition to the various system implementation, enhancement and optimization initiatives, this role will also be responsible for ongoing maintenance of the Workday to ensure exceptional services. This individual must continually identify opportunities for improvement and create People Technology solutions for Tufts Medicine. The position will partner with key stakeholders and other functional teams such as Finance, Information Technology and others to consult and coordinate technology functional system requirements, modifications, and ongoing enhancements. This role will be accountable for routine and non-routine reporting as needed to run the HR and Business operations. Tufts Medicine is undergoing major transformation. This individual will play a key role in assessing the value of the HR People Technology initiatives and ensure execution of all aspects: setting the expectations with the stakeholders and managing the scope, and timely implementation.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Human Resources, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.

2. Ten (10) years of experience leading Human Resources Technology Platforms.

3. Experience with Workday, system integration, and change management.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree in a related field, such as Human Resources, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.

2. Experience in overseeing core HCM and partnerships with Time & Attendance, Finance, and Supply Chain systems.

3. Experience in healthcare.

Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

1. Engages with the Human Resources leadership team, HR colleagues and other key stakeholders across the healthcare system; fostering teamwork and collaboration.

2. Partners with the Human Resources leadership team to collect and analyze data in support of HR strategic planning processes and coordinate system-wide efforts to drive HR performance improvement and optimization initiatives.

3. Acts as a consultant to key stakeholders and ensure success of the HR Technology programs.

4. Manages the HR Technology team. Provide expertise, thought leadership and direction to the team members. Ensure in creating an engaged and high performing team.

5. Leads the system implementation. Propose implementation methodology such as agile or waterfall in the context of the solution. Ensure implementation meets the objectives. Communicate with the stakeholders as per the implementation governance guidelines. Develop and monitor project work plans to ensure project success.

6. Maintains and ensure the ongoing operational excellence of the HR systems - functionality and service delivery.

7. Develops and track the objectives for operations, maintenance, and enhancement of the HR systems. Develop plans for continuous improvement of the service levels.

8. Continually evaluates customer needs, system reports and make appropriate recommendations.

9. Responsible for development, operation and execution of data management processes to ensure HR data integrity.

10. Participates in the development of HR policies and operational procedures that affect the systems’ data, the systems’ operations and the accuracy of HR information.

11. Participates on councils, quality improvement teams, and other such committees as required.

12. Maintains quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control in accordance with established policies, procedures and objectives.

13. Maintains and enhance professional expertise and skills through participation in appropriate educational and training seminars related to HR systems.

14. Models and reinforces ethical behavior in self and others by adhering to organizational policies and guidelines, support compliance initiatives, conduct business with honesty, show consistency in words and actions, and follow through on commitments.

Physical Requirements:

1. Work environment is a professional office environment with typical office requirements such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.

2. This is largely a sedentary role, which involves sitting most of the time, but may involve movements such as walking, standing, reaching, ascending / descending stairs and operate office equipment.

3. Frequently required to speak, hear, communicate and exchange information.

4. Able to see and read computers displays, read fine print, and/or normal type size print and distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.

5. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

6. Ability to work in confined or open environments.

7. Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
