POSITION TITLE: Systems Engineer

POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Technical Services

POSITION PURPOSES:

To provide exceptional service to the DMC family of employees through excellent teamwork and collaboration. The Deseret Management Corporation IT team provides infrastructure services for many of its subsidiaries. Engineer will need to collaborate and work effectively with cross-company teams. The individual will provide expertise to other team members in providing support to our employees. Engineer will be required to perform remote and onsite technical support. Must have excellent phone support skills and be able to communicate well over the phone. Providing stellar customer support is critical for this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work effectively in a team environment
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure that system requirements are properly communicated and met.
• Develop and implement solutions for improving system performance and reliability.
• Design, develop, and maintain complex systems for our company
• Manage and monitor system resources to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Learn new technologies and stay informed of emerging trends.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors’ degree preferred or equivalent combination of training and experience
• 6+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows, and other operating systems.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Active Directory, Radius, DNS, DHCP, and DFS
• Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, VLANS, Wireless, Routing, and switching
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn and stay current on new/emerging technologies and integrate with existing solutions
• Ability to identify opportunities for organizational or process improvement in technology stack(s)
• Possess a broad understanding of hardware and software technology and its application in the business environment including data center establishment
• Recommend and coordinate the implementation of technical controls to support and enforce defined security policies.
