Responsibilities

· Preparation and review of State Indirect Tax returns such as Sales and Use, Property, Franchises and Gross Receipts tax returns

· Preparation of workpapers supporting the completion of Federal and State separate and consolidated Income Tax returns

· Work with the accounting department and other business units within the U.S. consolidate group to gather information necessary for filing Indirect and Income Tax returns

· Preparation of U.S. group tax provision in accordance with ASC 740 for HY and FY statutory reporting purposes, including supporting workpapers and documenting the tax position taken

· Assumes responsibility for the U.S. tax compliance function by meeting filing due dates, and statutory reporting due dates while working directly with Group Tax Manager

· Correspond directly with Federal and State tax authorities on Income Tax and Indirect Tax matters

· Intermediate understanding of tax diligence as part of M&A

· Intermediate understanding of US reporting requirements as the organization is part of a global group

· Communicate with internal and external stakeholders

· Assist with tax administration on tax projects with the Group Tax, and Americas CFO

· Assist Group Tax and Americas CFO with special projects and tax research

· Gain expertise in the various accounting and tax software used by the group

Required Education / Experience

· 10+ years’ experience in a corporate tax role

· Minimum of 4 – 5 years of experience in a corporate tax department or a Public Accounting firm specializing in tax

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or majoring in tax and accounting course work completed

· Strong technical knowledge in tax compliance and ASC 740 (tax provision), as well as sound knowledge of U.S GAAP

· Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Excel and Word

· Experience with developing and maintaining good relationships

· Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Preferred Education and Experience

· CPA license and or Masters in Tax is highly preferred

Work arrangement

· Based in Houston

· Flexible work arrangement available. 3 days in office, 2 days’ work remote

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
