POSITION:

Science Teacher – 7-12th Grade

DESCRIPTION:

Shekinah Christian School in Plain City, OH is seeking an engaging and inspiring full-time science teacher for the spring semester of the 2022 - 2023 school year. The teacher's primary role will be to instruct high school students in Biology, Physical Science, Chemistry, and/or Physics. The candidate will also be assigned to teach electives that match their education, experience and availability. The right candidate will have a strong Christian testimony, demonstrated ability to teach, ability to connect well with students, background in the sciences, and a minimum of a Bachelor's degree. An educator’s license and/or ACSI certification or willingness to obtain is required.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with school's vision, mission, and educational standards
• Educate students in a classroom setting using best-practices that involve hands-on lab experiences
• Link classroom content with experiential learning outside the classroom
• Maintain positive relationships with students and parents
• Keep attendance, grades, and other records for each class in school management system up-to-date
• Prioritize the health and safety of all students
• Participate in ongoing opportunities for personal and professional growth
• Willing and able to serve as a mentor and student discussion group leader in addition to more traditional classroom responsibilities
• Teachers at Shekinah also commit to help lead, coach, or advise at least one program, club, sport, or other activity that takes place outside of the classroom

Qualifications:

• Strong Christian testimony
• Demonstrated classroom management skills
• Ability to connect well with students
• Background in a science-related field that correlates to the subjects assigned
• Bachelor's degree (licensure or ACSI certification preferred or candidate is willing to obtain)
