Reporting to the Soft Count Manager or Supervisor, the Soft Count Team Member/ Relief Supervisor is responsible for the operation, supervision, and functions within the soft count department, by ensuring efficient and timely counts in accordance with procedures and internal controls on a relief basis. The Soft Count Team Member/ Relief Supervisor will also perform efficient and timely counts and be responsible for maintaining and producing reports as required by supervisor, in accordance with Casino operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible for the accuracy in the count of money and chips from the bill validator and Table Games drop boxes, preparing deposit for the transfers to the main bank, and operating the currency counter and verifying count on calculator for accuracy, according to established procedures.

2. Responsible for the relief supervision of the Soft Count Team and ensuring compliance with internal controls by the Team and follow all guidelines for a “Secured Area.”

Ensure compliance with Tribal, State, and I.R.S. regulations by familiarizing self with required regulations.

4. Provide input into annual evaluation of Soft Count team members.

5. Assist Soft Count Team Members as necessary utilizing professional skills in accordance with assigned responsibility.

6. Maintain confidentiality of records and information pertinent to the nature of work.

7. Maintain and process all assigned records and reports in an accurate and timely manner.

8. Refers problems or complaints to appropriate supervisors according to Casino policies.

9. Reports and documents any observed or known safety hazard, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures to management immediately.

10. Performs other job-related duties as directed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

· Knowledge of Soft Count Internal Controls as it relates to Casino operations.

· Ability to calculate basic math equations.

· Knowledge of basic accounting applications.

· Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Individual should be able to express self in a clear and concise manner for the purpose of correspondence, reports, instructions, etc. Ability to effectively convey information to staff.

· Ability to effectively supervise staff, to define and delegate responsibilities.

· Must demonstrate professional and courteous mannerism in order to ensure an efficient team atmosphere.

· Knowledge and ability to operate a computer and various software programs.

· Ability to function effectively under pressure of time and/or demands of several tasks at once by effectively planning, organizing, and prioritizing workload.

· Knowledge of standard filing systems in order to prepare, file, and retrieve various documents/reports.

· Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to up to 20 lbs.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information pertinent to the nature of the work.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS

The Soft Count Team Member/ Relief Supervisor works under the supervision of the Soft Count Lead Supervisor, who provides general instructions. Work is assigned in terms of functional objectives. The Soft Count Lead Supervisor. will provide guidance with unusual situations that do not have clear precedents. Work may be spot checked for timeliness and accuracy.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. REQUIRED
  • Non-Indians must be at least 21 years of age. REQUIRED
  • Associate Degree in Accounting or related field. PREFERRED
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience. PREFERRED
  • Two (2) years of cash handling experience. REQUIRED
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in 10-key and word processing application. PREFFERED
  • Must submit to and clear an Alcohol/Drug Screen. REQUIRED
  • Must be Licensable by the Klamath Tribes Gaming Regulatory Commission. REQUIRED
  • Indian Preference will apply.
