PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position will lead Production to support hydraulic, hydrostatic and electrical excellence throughout the organization. This includes, but is not limited to, Production, Customer Service, Service Technicians, and Engineering. As the technical expert, this person will mentor and set an example through hands on tutoring and execution of complex troubleshooting.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Under general direction of the Service Manager, this position must work closely with supply chain, quality, engineering, production, bargained hourly employees, human resources, sales and customers. Interfaces effectively with all levels and departments within the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Ability to comprehend customer requirements, diagnose errors or technical problems (electric/hydraulic) and determine proper solution.

· Train technical assemblers and service technicians on how to perform complex repairs on equipment (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical).

· Test all product and equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance.

· Determine root cause for corrective action and produce timely / detailed reports. Follow-up with tracking quality errors and training plan to resolve errors moving forward.

· Execute warranty/field service when skill or customer satisfaction mandates.

· Must be able to document processes / procedures for the creation of hydraulic and electrical standardized work.

· Support job-related technical training and development of applicable personnel.

· Mentor in-house technicians as required.

· Assist in onboarding and continuous improvement for technical personnel.

· Perform to, and support, continuous improvement of technical methods and standards.

· Responsible for maintaining communication to appropriate management and support personnel concerning safety, quality and equipment performance issues as they arise.

· Establish and drive a lean, continuous improvement environment.

· Support EH&S safe work methods, ergonomic actions and other EH&S initiatives as needed.

· Coordinate with Engineering on all new product introductions to assure manufacturing readiness training to support launch timelines.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

· Technical degree or certification required. Examples include but not limited to:

· Mobile Hydraulic Mechanic certification through IFPS or equivalent

· Associates - Mechatronics

· Associates - Electrical Engineering

· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline desired

· Must have strong knowledge of manufacturing practices and procedures

· Strong technical skills related to hydraulic, hydrostatic and electrical required

· Minimum of seven years of mobile hydraulic / 12, 24 Volt electrical service experience

· Use of electrical and hydraulic diagnostic tools and computer software

· Familiarity diagnosing CanBus communication and IFM Code related issues

· Familiarity with hybrid technology

· Hydraulic and Electrical Schematic reading and interpretation

· Customer focused

· Dealing with ambiguity

· Functional technical skills – best practices

· Learning formally and on the fly

· Developing and maintaining peer relationships

· Planning

· Demonstrated application of Lean - Six Sigma methodologies to improving flow

· Excellent communication skills

· Developing presentations, and delivering messages to all levels in the business

· Excellent partnering and team building skills

· Experience in a union environment preferred

TRAVEL/WORKING CONDITIONS

· Up to 30% travel

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position may exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently or up to 60 pounds of force occasionally with assistance, as well as the use of arm and/or leg controls with exertion greater than that of sedentary work. May also push, pull, lift, carry, grasp, finger or otherwise move objects. Must be able to operate an automobile and to travel by airplane.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $56,000.00 - $71,000.00 per year
