Role and Responsibilities
Eye-Kraft Optical, Inc. is searching for a Technical Services Director. This executive level manager is responsible for supporting lab operations through the direction and management of technical services, engineering support, and technical resources. This role is responsible for quality improvement and continuous process improvement in the manufacturing process and helps drive bottom line performance by creating process efficiencies, reducing waste, and managing resource and equipment lifecycles from innovative sourcing to life-end disposition. The Technical Services Director will:
- Champion continuous improvement by analyzing current production processes and procedures and engineering solutions for the VP of Operations.
- Identify and eliminate waste in production and create systems to continuously keep waste in check.
- Manage and maintain accurate facility drawings to support facility expansion, new equipment, process flow, and utility management.
- Provide input on new equipment installations and expansion projects.
- Analyze new equipment capability and support requirements for optimum process location and utilization.
- Direct maintenance and maintenance support resources in coordination with the VP of Operations for scheduled, and non-scheduled maintenance activities.
- Manage all maintenance and engineering staff to support the VP of operations and production.
- Establishes and maintains a unified and standardized system of standard operating procedures for maintenance, quality, and process control.
- Manage either directly or through subordinates all city, state, and federal safety and compliance programs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- At least 6 years of Engineering experience.
- At least 6 years of experience in a prescription lens and optical lab manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles with experience using these tools to drive measurable financial results required.
- Experience with quality management systems in an optical lab.
- Ability to solve complex problems and exercise judgment based on careful analysis of multiple sources of information.
- A desire to be a team member in a successful independent Optical Lab with aggressive growth goals and a great reputation.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
