Job Description
The College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions at The University of Hartford invites applications for three full-time faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2023. At least two of these positions will be tenure-track faculty. The third position may be either tenure-track or clinical faculty.
Essential Job Duties
The successful applicants will teach courses related to the applicants area of expertise. There will also be opportunities to teach in our innovative University Interdisciplinary Studies program. Candidates for tenure-track positions are expected to demonstrate potential as evidenced by an active scholarship agenda resulting in peer-reviewed presentations or publications, as well as contributions to program development and assessment including CAPTE standards and active involvement in Department, College, University, and Hartford area communities. Candidates for a clinical position will demonstrate professional productivity as evidenced by sustained excellence and innovation in their clinical practice, and service to academic, professional, or Hartford area communities. Candidates will be expected to remain active in clinical or professional practice and contribute to the profession through publications, presentations, or other publicly disseminated work. Clinical-applied faculty are expected to engage in professional productivity such as consulting, as well as to actively participate in departmental and school committees, advise students, and contribute to student recruitment and retention. The initial Clinical/Applied contract is 1-2 years and subsequent longer-term contracts are based on review of performance and the continuing need for the position.Applicants should describe in their letter of intent how their teaching and/or scholarship or their professional practice, will advance intercultural competence in all students. Applicants are also expected to describe in their letter of intent how their scholarship and/or professional practice contributes to diverse communities.
Required Qualifications
Required for hire as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy: A terminal academic degree: Ph.D., D.Sc., Ed.D, or equivalent in a health-related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment. ABD candidates are encouraged to apply, with degree completion by August 16, 2023.Applicants not meeting these qualifications may not be hired.
Required for hire as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy: A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree, an Academic Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy, or a doctorate in a related field (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc.). ABD candidates with degree completion before August 16, 2023, are encouraged to apply. Experience as a licensed Physical Therapist. An active Physical Therapy license or eligibility for licensure in the State of ConnecticutApplicants not meeting these qualifications may not be hired.
