Manage the Waterton Space Simulation Lab (SSL) Test Facilities and technical workforce. Responsibilities include: Review of and scheduling of thermal and thermal vacuum testing in multiple facilities; Maintenance and Repair of facility equipment; Employee training and development; Schedule and budget accountability; Management of all resources including personnel, equipment, and facilities to ensure the technical, schedule and cost objectives of our customers are met; Management of SSL overhead and service center budgets for lab maintenance and facility operation support.

Identify, prioritize and justify Capital investments to maintain, upgrade and expand facility test capabilities. Provide Capital project oversight for any approved projects from project definition through project acceptance and validation testing.

Provide leadership to the SSL staff and aid in onboarding and training of new employees. Candidate must drive to meet all program testing objectives at the highest quality/lowest risk and most cost-effective manner. Position requires demonstrated communication skills and strong problem solving skills to enable resolution of test facility resource conflicts as well as the ability to organize, motivate and lead engineering and technician personnel.
Basic Qualifications:
Engineering degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.

Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills coordinating with multiple customers, leadership, and employees.

Extensive experience managing the testing of high value space hardware at the system and subsystem level.

Demonstrated positive results in leading large organizational transition and transformations.

Demonstrated experience achieving positive results in major technical objectives leading multi-functional teams and resources.

Resource planning and scheduling experience.

Existing knowledge of how a Test Lab is run.

Must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance
Desired Skills:
Extensive experience in testing of spacecraft system and subsystem level hardware.
Successful prior employee mentoring and guidance.
Experience managing spacecraft Integration and Test operations.
Certified Test Conductor experience.
Experience or exposure to the task of managing a test lab.
Capital project planning or execution.
TS/SCI clearance
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $118,100 - $226,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
