Hyster-Yale Group, Inc. (HYG), a world-class manufacturer of tailored forklift, attachment, and fuel cell solutions, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Global Trade Compliance Officer located in Greenville, NC.
The Global Trade Compliance Officer is responsible for oversight for the Company’s international trade compliance program. Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and implementing global strategies to ensure Company-wide compliance with U.S. and international customers regulations, shipping requirements, trade sanctions, and export control laws.
The Global Trade Compliance Officer will provide the following key responsibilities:
- Global Trade Compliance: Develop global strategies to ensure globally compliant import/export trade processes and procedures while supporting import and export functions worldwide.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor global trade laws and implement needed changes to policies and procedures.
- Training: Develop, implement, and manage global compliance training with the assistance of each theater’s Import/Export Officer.
- Government Trade Programs: Oversee Company’s participation in and compliance with customs programs that allow expedited importing and exporting goods and other benefits, including C-TPAT, AEO, and Free Trade Zones (FTZs).
- Work closely with the Import/Export Officers in Americas, EMEA and APIC theaters and the Company’s supply chain department and logistics consultants.
The ideal Global Trade Compliance Officer candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, International Trade, or another related field.
- 7+ years’ experience in an import/export trade compliance role.
- Working knowledge of regulations, policies, and laws affecting foreign trade including EAR, ITAR, OFAC, U.S., and international customers regulations including USMCA.
- Strong control and compliance mindset, linked to good communication skills.
- Ability to take ownership and drive tasks to completion.
- Ability to work on cross-functional teams.
- Analytical skills including Excel knowledge.
