UP Engineering + Surveying is a Civil Engineering and Surveying Firm seeking a full-time well-organized & experienced EIT to join our team as an Engineering in Training. Responsibilities include attending meetings, conducting desktop and field research, performing calculations for sewer, water, and stormwater designs, performing all practical and administrative duties assigned by the supervisor, traveling to sites when required, assisting on project designs, and writing reports. Applicants must be able to work as a team member in an open environment and be able to step outside of your comfort zone.

Job Description:

• Completing tasks set by the supervisor by assisting to coordinate, monitor, review projects, and preparation of plans.
• Observing existing strategies and techniques and offering suggestions for improvement for roadway, sewer, water, and drainage design
• Conducting research and collating data to ensure the assigned projects are completed within the established guidelines by the local, state, and federal laws, regulation, standards and/or policies.
• Preparing and supervising the preparation of construction drawings, exhibits and plat documents.
• Traveling to different sites and gaining practical experience in new work zones.
• Working closely with staff to foster professional values and build good relationships.
• Attending off-site project meetings and/or workshops.
• Submitting to all forms of evaluation during the traineeship.
• Compiling reports and delivering presentations to staff members and other stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

• A relevant degree in civil engineering or other applicable field required
• Engineer in Training certification (or working to obtain EIT) preferred
• Experience in land development is a plus
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, Bentley programs (or similar), Microsoft Office products, mathematics, analytical and critical thinking skills
• Good communication skills, conversation skills, technical writing, and willingness to learn
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure and work in a team setting

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
