Transportation Manager
Primary accountabilities:
- Management of the product shipment cycle from carrier scheduling through loading and shipment to provide
- A good reputation and relationship with carriers
- Prompt loading
- Accurate paperwork and billing
- Development of the most cost effective options
- Organization and maintenance of the finished goods warehouse to provide
- A high degree of inventory accuracy
- Minimal handling damage
- Efficient loading capability
- Leadership of the shipping team
- Accident free work environment
- Increasing levels of operator capability through training
- Team member selection
- Most efficient assignment of resources
- Achieve a high level of customer satisfaction
- Back up the Customer Service Representative/Planner
- Customer interface
- Order entry
- Paper machine block scheduling
- Paper machine trimming
- Complaints handling
Skills/ Experience required
- Mastery of the basic elements of warehouse operations
- Mastery of the manufacturing execution system
- Knowledge of customers and customer requirements
- Knowledge of shipping documentation requirements and the billing process
- Experience with managing carriers
- Experience with machine scheduling and trim techniques
- Demonstrated team skills
Job Requirements:
To perform at a proficient level, a candidate would be expected to have:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, Business Administration or related field preferred
- 5 – 7 years of logistics/traffic experience required
- Oral and written communication skills
- Presentation skills
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
