SUMMARY
The logistics manager manages the traffic of products In and Outbound to their respective locations, and acts as a subject matter expert in all Logistics related matters.He/she reports to the Director of Operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Data analysis of relevant market trends (International & Domestic).
2. Oversee the entirety of Transtex’s logistics. (Canada, USA & MX).
3. Quoting the sales team (This includes breaking down the price structure, managing expectations and packaging details regarding the pricing).
4. Source viable transportation companies.
5. Negotiate freight contracts with carriers.
6. Onboarding liaison between carriers & accounting (for disputes & clarification).
7. Dispute any invoice discrepancies with carriers.
8. Submit/dispute claims with carriers.
9. Compliance (Make sure our products meet all legal standards for purchasing/distribution, International & Domestic).
10. Gather relevant administrative paperwork for all government agencies.
11. Ad-hoc requests (reports, projects for Marketing/Engineering).
12. Effectively managing logistics department and employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
· 2-3 years of experience as logistics supervisor/manager
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply chain Management or 5 years of relevant experience in Logistics
· Experience in a fast-paced environment
· Able to multi-task
· Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
· Experience with ERP (preferable)
· Experience in Customs Federal regulations is a plus (CFR19 – Not required, but it has helped to have studied it)
· Must have knowledge of the LTL environment.
· Intermediate-expert tier experience managing international shipments & contracts.
· Knowledge of Port/Rail operations (Domestic & International)
· Freight brokerage (domestic) is recommended.
· Able to fluently communicate and interpret commodity descriptions for Customers, Government agencies and carriers.
· Experience in managing and communicating compliance/on-call issues.
