Position Overview
Shaw Industries is looking for a Transportation Supervisor to create Shaw brand loyalty by delivering our products in a safe and timely manner, at a value to our customers. The Transportation Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day execution, direction and all transportation matters for the NJ facility, which includes direct supervision of approximately 45 drivers, located in NJ, NY and PA. Compliance & DOT minded individuals with distribution background desired.

Responsibilities
- Conduct safety training and audits to ensure adherence to our policies as they relate to safety.
- Maintains accurate files on vehicle use, condition and maintenance and recommends programs to the Operations Manager to improve the operation of the fleet.
- Assist the Operations Manager in creating and monitoring the transportation budget.
- Must build trusting relationships with associates and various support groups, both internal and external.
- Must be able to work autonomously and drive results to ensure on-time and in-full delivery of Shaw product to our customers.
- Responsible for maintaining communication with the Operations Manager, Shaw sales force, customers, and delivery drivers.
- Ensure a safe work environment is provided for all associates to include compliance with all DOT and OSHA requirements.
- Engage, develop and attract diverse associates to achieve facility goals.
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship between drivers and warehouse associates.
- Act as liaison between facility and corporate support functions and departments.
- Provide feedback, instruction, and development guidance to help others excel in their current or future job responsibilities.
- Engage in continuous self-development efforts.
- Exemplary attendance record.
- Other duties assigned by Operations Manager.
Qualifications

Four-year degree and 1+ years of supervisor/lead experience; or High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of supervisor/lead experience.
- 2+ years of distribution experience.
- Candidate must be willing and able to travel overnight typically less than 10% of the time.
- Candidate must be proficient in basic software and other technology applications.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written required. Candidate must be organized with specific attention to detail.
- Candidate must possess a strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude.
