Traveling Superintendent
We are looking for a Traveling Construction Superintendent to support construction management for the GBA Builders. Projects could be based anywhere in U.S with a focus in Mission Critical OR LifeSciences OR Federal Government work. This superintendent will have the full support of the project manager while exercising autonomy in day-to-day operations. Successful candidate will be a team player who is self-motivated and willing to jump in and assist where needed, adding value by offering thoughtful solutions and project efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Traveling Construction Superintendent to support construction management for the GBA Builders. Projects could be based anywhere in U.S with a focus in Mission Critical OR LifeSciences OR Federal Government work. This superintendent will have the full support of the project manager while exercising autonomy in day-to-day operations. Successful candidate will be a team player who is self-motivated and willing to jump in and assist where needed, adding value by offering thoughtful solutions and project efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
- Provide coordination and supervision of design-build and bid-build projects in mission critical facilities such as telco switch buildings and data centers
- Collaboration with clients, design team and contractors for project success
- Build/maintain jobsite culture of “Safety First”
- Quality Control/Quality Assurance
- Daily coordination and management of subcontractors and jobsite logistics
- Collect, review and submit shop drawings, product data, test reports, etc.
- Build/update construction schedule and ‘look ahead’ schedules
- Review estimates with operations team to ensure logistical/site considerations are included
- Supervise and coordinate the execution of M.O.P.s (Method of Procedure) efforts
- Complete daily/weekly reports and maintain photo journal of progress
Requirements:
- Degree in construction management or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in construction field management/supervision.
- Experience in the construction of critical facility environments is preferred
- Partnership approach to working with contractors, designers and clients.
- MS Office Suite knowledge and excellent computer skills
- Proficient in MS Project Scheduling
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead a team
- Self-motivation with good time management skills
- Travel is required
