Position Summary:

Langston University Cooperative Extension program is seeking a proven and committed leader with the experience and skills to lead a team of 3-4 extension staff members in the strategic delivery of quality educational programs and services in Tulsa County and other neighboring counties (Wagoner, Okmulgee, Muskogee, Osage, Washington, and Rogers). The individual will oversee the work center. He/she will ensure that the center operates efficiently and effectively while delivering expected and promised outcomes and deliverable products (plans and reports).
The person will have a proven track record of success managing administrative functions including personnel, programming, day-to-day office operations, and fostering collaboration and teamwork. The position requires someone with excellent communication skills, in writing and oral; able to provide educational programming and collaborate on projects. This person will help develop and support Cooperative Extension programs and relationships that allow the LU to recognize and address the local needs, share information, provide education to benefit local residents.
The individual will promote, build community connections and relationships, and positively represent Langston University Extension in Tulsa County and neighboring counties. He/She will support the staff and stakeholders to uphold professionalism when working with the local communities. The area lead educator will work under the supervision of the Langston University Extension Administrator. The position responsibilities include providing administrative and educational programming leadership in areas of value to the county individually and/or in cooperation with other Extension staff.

Prepare and manage an office and field activities budget.
Promote engagement with diverse audiences and assure compliance with civil rights policies.
Lead and support staff to deliver educational programs th3:t meet the community needs.
Promote and represent LU Extension and Extension programming in the focus communities; engage staff to do the same.
Provide administrative and program leadership for strategic delivery of Extension educational programs in the target area.
