Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion to video record and edit lecture and presentation material on behalf of the Center for Advancement of Faculty Excellence as part of their mission to design coursework for Liberty University Online.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Video record media contributor’s lecture or presentation material for Liberty University Online.

2. Edit media contributor’s video lecture or presentation material for Liberty University Online.

3. Travel as necessary in and about the state of Virginia and neighboring states to video record for Liberty University Online.

4. Meet with media contributor before recording to review expectations for video content and duration.

5. Communicate with the Center for Advancement of Faculty Excellence staff regarding progress of the video recording and editing process, including maintaining design and quality expectations.

6. Manage video production equipment to include: video camera, video and audio camera accessories, and portable lighting equipment.

7. Manage video editing equipment, including: specially built computer, multiple external harddrives, and the necessary editing software.

8. Remains abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services and leading industry performance benchmarks.

9. Manage sharepoint and report progress to the CAD support staff on video status in the current sub term.

10. Catalog, store and keep a data base of all raw footage shot by all CAD videographers.

11. Feed editors projects in the current sub term for completion by course copy.

12. Upload all completed projects to the transcoder for implementation to blackboard.

13. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies

Four-year college degree, with a concentration in video production preferable, and 2+ years experience in a video production function. Strong experience required. Well-developed communications skills. Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Excellent computer and organizational skills. Regularly lift 65 or fewer pounds. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
