Responsible for ensuring company resources are aligned to support the overall strategic direction of the organization. The Vice President, Shared Services has a broad array of responsibilities across several areas of the company, assisting in maximizing operational performance and supporting the company in achieving its financial goals.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Other duties as assigned.

  • Oversees the operation of assigned department(s), including Accounts Payable and Payroll, in accordance with the strategic direction of the company
  • Sets goals, monitors work, and evaluates results to ensure that departmental objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs of the organization.
  • Provides leadership by setting clear standards, goals, expectations and leading by example.
  • Develop and translate Valiant’s Global strategy into operational goals, objectives, and process roadmaps; identify necessary resources to support the implementation of these strategies.
  • Assess opportunities for service improvement and/or expansion against business objectives and determine creative means to implement new and innovative technical and process-based solutions.
  • Optimize and standardize existing processes, establish clear criteria and guidelines at all stages, map exceptions and gaps.
  • Provide leadership and oversee management of the Shared Services team
  • Drive and create a culture of continuous process improvement and innovation.
  • Establish and monitor governance of Accounts Payable & Payroll including policy and process changes, supporting systems.
  • Accelerate scale through automation and the introduction of technologies, continuous monitoring, and quality assurance in partnership with our People Resources and IT teams
  • Oversee the timely preparation, processing, maintenance and appropriate distribution of payroll information, payroll reports, and tax year-end reports.
  • Direct and audit payroll procedures to include earnings, garnishments, tax withholding, and absence processing globally and ensure compliance with organizational procedures and internal controls.
  • Ensure that Accounts Payable processes are designed and maintained to ensure a compliant internal control environment, including ERP system access.
  • Be the owner of process maps and SOPs (standard operating procedures)
  • Design and implement SLAs and KPIs to monitor process efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Report clear information and performance metrics to stakeholders; drive corrective action as necessary
  • Act as a key stakeholder to foster a business-oriented culture within the Global Excellence Center; continuously monitor the needs of the business.
  • Anticipate needs, assess, and manage business risk taking; escalate issues that may impact the process globally; manage through ambiguity.
  • Work closely with Legal and Finance teams to maintain full compliance globally.
Position Requirements
  • Experience of supervising/leading multicultural teams and projects
  • Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for translating quantitative and qualitative data into actionable plans.
  • Work experience in a rapidly growing and/or rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills including planning, prioritizing and delegating.
  • Proven ability to build a strong team of direct reports and to actively develop the team’s potential through coaching and effective performance management.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate at all levels and across all functions of the organization.
  • Proven ability to organize/manage multiple priorities coupled with the flexibility to quickly adapt to ever changing business needs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Comfortable working at the detail/tactical level and the macro/strategic level
  • Management experience in a Shared Service Center or Global Business Services
  • Fundamental knowledge and experience in design and analysis of business processes and systems plus a good mastery of lean and standardization concepts and tools
  • Track record of program management/project delivery success that should include System Implementation/Integration, cost savings, process improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and Customer Focus mentality with a proven ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization.
  • Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and results-driven.
  • Strong business acumen, emotional intelligence, and understanding of organizational issues and challenges.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, ability to navigate and be comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Strong organizational, change management and execution skills, along with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and drive multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for translating quantitative and qualitative data into actionable plans.

  • Experience with Deltek CostPoint ERP, Microsoft Dynamics, ADP desirable but not essential

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to travel to foreign locations whose citizens experience lower incomes.
