Warehouse Lead Job at Meherrin Agricultural and Chemical
This position is based at our Hampton Farms location in Lubbock, TX.
Warehouse Lead is responsible for planning, controlling, and organizing the warehouse. Lead also organizes activities and assigns job duties to warehouse team members. Lead manages inventory control, storage, retrieval of goods. Also monitoring shipping/ receiving / transfers of finished product, packaging and ingredients and record keeping for all as well as entering into a system.
Day To Day Duties
- Raw / roasted Peanuts, Packaging items ( jars , lids, labels…) Damaged/ hold inventory,
- Communication with management on with issues with production hindering inventory counts.
- All receiving and packing slips are to be stamped, Filed, put into a week spreadsheet, and scanned to accounting.
- Skills and Competencies
- Lead demonstrates a good understanding of workplace policies and rules, customer request, production and business needs.
- Acts in accordance with the company vision, values, and vision.
- Must possess great communication skills with coworkers, management, customers, and drivers over phone and via emails
- Be willing to participate in Management groups (Safety Team/ Planning Committee/ Care Team)
- Knowledgeable with a computer. Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) being able navigate and input information accurately. Answer Emails with customers, Brokers, and other Hampton farms employees in a timely manner.
- Have great Forklift experience and use one safely.
- Must be able to work well under pressure dealing with multiple trucks daily.
- Be self-driven and show initiative during down times.
- Ensuring all loads SHIPPED are correct and accurate. It’s extremely important that we send out the correct product and product amount to our customers.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years Warehouse Operations
- Must be willing to be flexible work overtime and weekends.
- Ability to clearly present ideas and recommendations.
- Ability to handle confidential material.
