Overview

The Packing Associate is responsible for accurately and efficiently pack parts for customer orders in preparation for shipping.

Essential Functions

• Checks product on totes for accuracy, ensuring all parts designated for that specific tote are present
• Utilizes Blue Light procedure for missing or incorrect product
• Knows rules involved when packing ORMD and hazardous materials including when to affix identity labels or placards
• Executes all steps involved in packing product: selects appropriate box size; inserts product; packing slip, and master invoice; affixes shipping label and/or placards; and places carton on shipping conveyor
• Maintains orderly housekeeping of assigned area
• Adheres to all company safety rules and regulations
• Other tasks as assigned and/or needed

Non-essential functions

• Cover other positions as needed

Required Qualifications and Education

• Ability to work well in a team as well as individually
• Good mathematics skills
• Good organizational skills
• Good time management skills

Employees are encouraged to use good judgment with heavy or bulky packages. Warehouse rules require employees to seek help with heavy or bulky packages exceeding 35 lbs.; package size must be a consideration when deciding help is needed.

• Must be able to handle a 2lb handheld device
• Must be able to move about inside the warehouse
• Must be able to communicate verbally and written
• Must be able to read from a screen
• Must be able to ascend/descend ladders and stairs
• Must be able to accurately count items
