The Role:
Clif Bar Baking Company is looking for a Warehouse Team Member to join our Bakery Team in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The Warehouse Team will be extremely flexible and enjoy a "high-change" environment where priorities shift from day to day. The Warehouse Team Member is responsible for storing and retrieving material in the warehouse areas of the Bakery. As new material comes in, the operator will rotate stock, so the oldest materials used first. The Forklift Driver should note any damaged cartons, crates, or containers as they store them so they can report them to his or her supervisor. Drivers will be responsible for inventory control. Maintaining a safe, orderly work area, is part of the job for the Forklift Driver, and they must always be watchful of individuals in their work zone and mindful of their safety.
Position Objectives and Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure personal safety, food safety and quality protocols are always followed.
- Fulfill material orders throughout the plant as needed in a timely, safe and sanitary manner, First In/First Out (FIFO) order, documenting and reporting any variance.
- Train and share knowledge with team members to help improve their skills.
- Keep well maintained, legible documents and have them turned into the office in a timely manner.
- Be involved in implementing solutions and ideas in the department.
- Maintain a strong focus on Safety, Quality and Efficiencies.
- Work with other departments to create and maintain a "whole team" atmosphere.
- Enforce and observe all safety rules and regulations as put forth by Clif Bar and OSHA.
- Operate all industrial powered vehicles required for assigned area efficiently and in a safe manner.
- Inspect inbound and outbound loads in a timely, safe, and sanitary manner.
- Fill out all necessary paperwork accurately, legibly and correctly for each load.
- Properly store all material in proper locations to avoid cross contamination and in proper rotation with all required information present on each item (Lot #, inventory count, allergen sticker, etc.).
- Turn in paperwork in a timely manner.
- Lift 0 - 50 pounds as needed.
- Perform other related duties as requested.

Technical Expertise Required
- MS Outlook calendar and email management, written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Ability to use basic hand tools
- Ability to read and understand English
Education/Training
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
- Forklift experience required*
- Experience in a manufacturing or food production environment a plus
Travel Required
- Less than 2%
