Position Summary:
Tantor Media, an audiobook publisher in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, has an immediate opening for an experienced Python Developer to help with its growing development needs. Tantor Media is a division of Recorded Books and produces audiobooks under the Tantor and Highbridge imprints. This is a full time position (40 hours weekly) that will report directly to the IT Manager.
Position Responsibilities including but not limited to:

Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code

Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications

Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic

Implementation of identity access management, security and data protection

Integration of data storage solutions (sql, no sql and object storage)

Developing, Designing and deploying on AWS cloud Provider using AWS services
-
Expert in web page scrapping tools
Skills
-
Expert in Python, with knowledge of at least one Python web framework (Django, Flask)

Expert in use of various AWS services needed for building scalable web application
-
Expert in use of serverless technology in building applications
-
Good understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, Bootstrap and CSS3
-
Knowledge of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments and have experience on identity access management
-
Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
-
Familiarity with event-driven programming in Python
-
Strong unit test and debugging skills
-
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
-
Have experience working in sprint/scrum based model of delivering features every 2 weeks
Qualifications
5+ experience in development of web application using python
5+ experience in backend technologies (mysql)
3+ experience in aws services (s3,ec2,lambda,ecs,iam)
