Coordinator of the Welcome Team

Reports To: Executive Director of Staff and Ministries

Team: Cool Team

FLSA Status: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-exempt, Sunday - Thursday

Summary: The Welcome Team Coordinator provides shepherding, oversight, and direction of the Welcome Team Servant Leaders and Team Leaders which consists of the Parking Lot Team, Greeters, Ushers, Connectors (in collaboration with Spiritual Formation) and Medical Alert Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • As a TC team member, responsible for personal spiritual formation, growing as an Upward, Inward, Outward disciple of Jesus Christ. This will mainly be expressed through the Five Characteristics of a Transformer (worship, connect, serve, give, invite).
  • Responsible for protecting the Culture of TC and for living out the Five C’s—Character, Competency, Catalytic, Collaboration, and Chemistry.
  • Proactively and consistently discovers, develops, disciples, and deploys Welcome Team Servant Leaders in accordance with the Vision and Values of Transformation Church.
  • Responsible to ensure, in collaboration with the Welcome Team, a welcoming environment for every person attending a TC weekend service and is equipped to direct people to their next steps toward Christ.
  • Coordinates all aspects of the Welcome Team including scheduling of servant leaders, effective communication, managing process queues, and logistical preparation.
  • Prepares for each weekend service by having a full understanding of the weekend service plan and effectively communicating that plan to the Welcome Team.
  • Plans and maintains stewardship over the Welcome Team budget.
  • Collaborates with necessary staff to ensure all Welcome Team related communication, events, purchasing, etc. are completed according to established procedures and within the predetermined timetables.
  • Ensures specific shepherding needs are being met in a timely manner and follow ups are being done.
  • Sets up huddles and small group discipleship meetings with core Welcome Team Servant Leaders.
  • Engage with Servant Leader teams as a whole through team huddles, as well as non-training events to ensure they are being engaged, equipped, empowered, valued, care for, and loved.
  • Establishes and monitors criteria or Best Practice for having healthy Servant Leaders.
  • Serve alongside Welcome Team Servant Leaders every Sunday and ensure all Servant Leaders are engaging and welcoming of all who attend a TC event and equipped to lead or direct them to next steps towards a relationship with Jesus.
  • Collaborate with other weekend ministry teams to make sure all are intentionally serving one another in the best ways possible to live out the Gospel through our service and having connection points for Servant Leaders.
  • Responsible for weekly Welcome Team attendance, event scheduling, servant leader onboarding, and submission and management of team purchase requests to Finance.
  • Coordinates team organization through Asana and assisting the Welcome Team Servant Leaders as needed.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.

  • Computer/Technical Skills: Intermediate/Advanced used of Microsoft Office. Experience with ASANA and Church Community Builder desired.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: Associates degree or equivalent with three years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required..
  • Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions and correspondence. Ability to speak and write clearly and concisely. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees, servant leaders and external contacts.
  • Computer and Mathematical Ability: Ability to perform basic to intermediate mathematical functions, including ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and/or involved written or oral instructions. Ability to handle problems involving few concrete variables in unique situations.

Certificates and Licenses: CPR/AED Certification may be required (provided by Transformation Church).

Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversees a team of five or more Servant Leader Team Leaders.
