Welder (equipment manufacturer) Job at Cardinal AG - Spring Green
Cardinal AG designs and builds custom, innovative equipment for use in the glass industry. We offer a monthly profit sharing plan, a 4-day workweek, and an immaculate, climate-controlled work environment. We're seeking a Welder to join our team of welders responsible for welding equipment frames and other components as specified by layouts or prints. As a Welder, you'll also paint parts and frames using a spray paint application and perform other welding related tasks such as cutting and grinding.
Essential Functions:
- Welds metal (i.e., steel, aluminum) parts or components together, using welding equipment.
- Repairs broken or cracked parts, using welding equipment.
- Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead position.
- Cleans or degreases parts, using wire brush or portable grinder.
- Inspects finished workpiece for conformance to specifications; must hold tolerances to .30.
- Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or spatter, using hand chisel or portable grinder equipment.
- Positions work pieces and clamps together or assembles in jigs or fixtures.
- Reviews layouts, blueprints, diagrams, or work orders in preparation for welding or cutting metal components.
- Assists with additional tasks such as sawing, painting, moving material and metal preparation.
- Meet weekly production standards set by Cardinal AG management.

Position requires regular, in-person attendance at the plant.
Ability to work with and as part of a team including but not limited to the Plant Manager, managers, employees throughout Cardinal, and vendor partnerships.
Ability to exercise good judgement in decision making, ideas, and all aspects relating to the Spring Green AG team, Cardinal and other company relationships.

Qualifications:
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Technical degree in welding and/or 1+ years’ work experience preferred
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- The trait of being dependable and trustworthy
- Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word
