As the WIOA Program Manager, you will provide leadership and support to Career Navigators, Instruction and Assessment Staff in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement, while ensuring outstanding customer service to program participants. We are seeking a dynamic, team- oriented and caring individual to join our spirited team.
Responsibilities:
Successful Elements:
- Provide individualized assessment of work, family and personal development needs and
opportunities - Build professional one-on-one working relationships with participants to assist in
eliminating challenges that are hindrances to obtaining and retaining employment - Provide referrals to appropriate community service or social service agencies when
needed - Provide guidance and support for Career Navigators to ensure positive outcomes and
goals are met - Facilitate regular meetings with the Career Navigators to ensure that the best
practices are being used and to discuss improvements/goals - Provide consistent and comprehensive case management and follow-up, ensuring that
post-placement contacts are made as required by the contract - Work with the leadership team on implementing processes that increase customer
engagement - Build and maintain working relationships with training providers and community
partners - Review participant cases for program and funding approval
- Collaborate with members of EDSI leadership team to create cohesive processes
- Utilize CWDS to review and monitor participant cases
- Work alongside Performance Analyst to ensure that reporting is timely and accurate
- Coordinate participant retention services and accommodate participant work schedules
- Provide new employee training for Career Navigators
- Monitor staff performance and participate in staff reviews on a quarterly basis
- Assist in the preparation of project reports as needed
- May provide case management and follow up
- Attend outreach and Rapid Response events as needed
- Create and maintain programmatic flyers and marketing
- Support team of Instructors who facilitate instructional programs and workshops
- Ensure workshops have coverage
- Manage monthly calendar of workshops and other job seeker services
- Collaborate with Instructors to create and develop curriculum for new workshops
- Provide regular updates to members of leadership and the Workforce Development
Board - Attend and lead regular meetings to provide program updates and to speak on goals
- Address staff and participant concerns in a timely manner
- Present innovative ideas to enhance program procedures and services
- Maintain a flexible schedule
- Use critical thinking skills to find solutions to staff or participant concerns
- All other duties assigned
Required Experience:
- Three to five years of professional experience of career counseling/customer service
experience - Ability to prioritize tasks and strong organizational skills
- Problem solving skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated telephone, computer and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
