ABA Support Staff Job at Marblehead Public Schools
The Marblehead School District is currently seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of Special Education ABA Support staff/Tutor in our programs designed for students primariliy diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Applicants must have experience with the implementation of Applied Behavioral Analysis and/or be willing to be trained.The primary responsbilities are to address the comprehensive needs of students with ASD and/or significant neurological disabilities. Communication, academics, social development and self-help skills are the main focus of this continuum. As students demonstrate progress in these skills, they are introduced to activities (both social and academic) involving typical peer interaction to target generalization of skills to the general education environment.This is a Unit Tutor position; compensation in accordance with bargained scale.
The position is 30 hours a week and benefits eligible (contracts found here - https://www.marbleheadschools.org/Page/362)Position Responsibilities: Supports instruction in substantially separate program tailored to the needs of students who require a highly individualized program that incorporates specialized instruction, individual and/or small group teaching as well as supported inclusion opportunities. *Discrete trials and data collection Works closely and collaboratively with related service providers, program consultants and general education teachers in order to provide students with a comprehensive educational program.Works to ensure the rights of students with disabilities to be full participants in the general curriculum.Implements state and federal laws and regulations as they apply to special education.Implements IEPs and approved instruction methods Effectively uses instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.Supports the translation of lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction.Supports and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a supportive learning environment in the classroom.Supports and maintains data on pupils academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records.Supports the administration of standardized tests in accordance with district testing program.Participates in professional development programs as required.Experience working in a team-centered environment.
